The world faces enormous challenges. The warming of the planet, acid rain, abnormal weather patterns and much more, which wreak havoc on local habitats. But Takino Filter has a gift to offer. Our founding principle is to work to abate the burden humankind has imposed on the earth. We want to provide peace of mind and a sense of security by restoring environmental habits to their natural states. It’s how we express gratitude and respect to all living things.

Takino Filter's"man-made rapid forestation" technology protects and stabilizes steep embankments by inducing the quick taking of root and germination of all types of plant life to to promote greening. Typical reforestation methods are weak at resisting inclement weather before greening has had a chance to hit critical mass. Strong winds and rains erode the slopes and inhibit the introduction of plant and herb varieties.

Symbiotic Effect

Simply by covering target areas with Takino Filter growing mats—non-woven mats with a random arrangement of water-repellent ultrafine fibers similar to the capillary roots on plants and that also prevent fractional movement of the soil—erosion by rain water is prevented and environmental conservation is induced through the systematic introduction of herbs, woody plants and trees. The Takino Filter method retains moisture. By also introducing microorganisms into the soil, they induce rapid reforestation through a natural symbiosis of water, soil and vegetation.


Award-winning Results

Takino Filter products have proven themselves in rigorous testing environments in Japan as well as in the field in both Japan and Indonesia. Japan’s Public Works Research Center has granted Construction Technology Review and Certification (no. 0106, for MF type products in 2001) for their outstanding performance. They have been officially registered in the NETIS (New Technology Information System) database of Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (no. CG-980018-V, in 1998). And they have been thoroughly examined and awarded a variety of industrial awards, including the grand prize at the 24th Fukuda Special Awards for Invention in 1999.
