Qualification for Certification

MF type Takino Filters are comprised of a robust and durable polyethylene netting below a non-woven sheet giving them elasticity. Sandwiched beneath this “web” is vegetation material (seeds, fertilizer, culture medium) packaged in degradable cotton bags. The mats can be affixed to sloped surfaces with pins (wooden spikes). The entire makeup suppresses soil erosion while fostering the growth of woody plants on steep slopes.

1. Soil erosion prevention capabiity

According to results of environmental testing of the effects of erosion on fertile soil caused by rainfall, Takino Filters have the ability to foster vegetation while preventing soil erosion.。

2. Promoting vegetation

According to survey results of on-site experiments, seeds equipped in Takino Filter growing mats take hold on steep slopes to result in the reliable sprouting of woody plants.

3. Environmental safety

According to results of decomposition and extraction test for the liquidation of heavy metals, Takino Filters meet the standard criterion according to law as determined by executive order of the Japanese prime minister’s office (issued in 1971 and 1973 and revised in 2000), as stated in item 4, below.

4. Execution and economy

Implementation method and costs are on par with typical greening technologies.
